10 nights,10 advices
1 – Avoid sleeping at night and strive in prayer the same way the Prophet (salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam) did.

2 – Get your family motivated. If you can’t wake them every night then concentrate on the odd number of nights. The Prophet (salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam) was very keen to involve his family during this period – let’s try our best!

3 – Increase your du’aa!

4 – Purify your heart and body. Be sure to let these days be a time to cleanse your heart of all wickedness and evil. As for your body, some of the Salaf used to prefer making ghusl and add nice fragrance during every night.

5 – Strive in worship during night and day. Al-Shafi’ee said, ‘I recommend that he strives in worship during the day as he does at night’. This indicates that it is preferred to worship at both ends of the day as much as possible.

6 – One of the most virtuous acts during these ten days and nights is to be completely devoted to Allah and cut yourself off from all distractions. Allah says “And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion.” [73:8]. Therefore, turn off your phones, stay away from arguments, unnecessary gatherings, and bury your worries. Try to concentrate on the joy of remembering Allah.

7 – Guard your intention and make sure it’s on the right track. Your sincerity will lift you up higher than your actions!

8 – Your rank with Allah will be as hard as you strive. Diversify your worship so that you don’t get bored or tired. Most importantly, be patient and do not give up.
9 – Think of it as a race. Muslims across the globe will be striving to please Allah and where do you stand between them? Will you be shackled by your sins and sit idle? No, you won’t, ensha’allah! You’ll be amongst the first ones in the line sprinting to Allah.

10 – Think positive of Allah during all times and seek your reward!
